Merchandise Insurance
Goods are travelling with insurance coverage, according to current laws (Dlgs. 286/2005) but, upon client’s request we can add every kind of complementary guaranty (all risks) in agreement with an important insurance company.
In the few cases in which, during transportation, our clients’ merchandise are subject to damages and / or our accident office (assicurazioni@lucianu.it) takes care of completing all the necessary procedures of refund.
Indemnity Limitations for loss or damage of the transported merchandise
- The following paragraphs are added to the article 1696 of the Italian Civil Code
“the indemnity due by the transportation company cannot be more than one EUR per kilo (gross weight) of the merchandise lost or damaged during national transportation, and in any case not more than the amount stated by the article 23 of the Agreements for the road goods transportation, in case of international transportation”
Transportation company cannot take advantage of the limitations of responsibility in case a proof is presented that loss and damage of the merchandise are due to malice or fault of the vector,
persons of his staff, or of any other person he could have used to execute the transportation.
